Une victoire avant la trêve, voilà qui fait du bien au moral de Rebecq qui sait savourer chaque succès comme il se doit car les Ouest-Brabançons y goûtent rarement. Comme il fallait s'y attendre, ils ont dû lutter pour accrocher une 3e équipe à leur tableau de chasse. Et malgré cinq points de retard à l'entrée du dernier quart-temps, ils ont su profiter de la fébrilité adverse pour finalement s'envoler. Et le président Vancutsem d'annoncer : « au second tour, nous ferons mieux, j'en suis sûr. » Il y a déjà un net progrès, d'autant que les « Gueux » ont laissé échapper l'un ou l'autre match sur des détails durant ce premier tour.
Les Waterlootois peuvent se mordre les doigts d'avoir laissé filer la victoire. Dans le derby, c’est Rebecq qui l’a emporté en signant par la même occasion son 3e succès de la saison face à Waterloo 1815. Des visiteurs qui peuvent nourrir des regrets car ils menaient encore 41-50 à l’entame des 10 dernières minutes de jeu. Un joueur waterlootois s’est énervé, ce qui a remis Rebecq dans le match et lui a permis de s’imposer 74-61.

Les rencontres ''retour'' auront désormais un tout autre visage.....plus de jeunes auront leur place dans ces équipes, aussi plus de discipline tous sont prévenus, maintenant place au sport, au plaisir de jouer et de montrer le vrai visage de l'équipe.
